Coaching Certification

Available from early 2018, ShortGolf’s two-level Coach Certification will develop all the skills you need to introduce kids and adults alike to the wonderful world of ShortGolf.

What’s included

Level 1 Certification

An online Certification for golf coaches, school teachers, camp coaches or youth group leaders, the Course content includes:

  • History of ShortGolf®
  • ShortGolf® Coaching ethos and methodology
  • Coaching ShortGolf® to children
  • Product knowledge
  • Safety procedures
  • ShortGolf® Fundamentals, Grip and Ready Position
  • Introduction to the 4 ShortGolf® Shots – Putt, Chip, Pitch, Full Shot
  • ShortGolf® Putt and Chip techniques, drills and games
  • Program and Lesson Planning

Level 2 Certification

ShortGolf Level 2 Training is available to (1) those with a minimum of 3 months experience since qualification as a Level 1 Coach, or (2) to experienced Golf Instructors.

1. Level 1 to Level 2 Coaches

Delivered by an experienced ShortGolf Master Trainer, this training will focus on increasing knowledge of the more technical aspects of golfing technique. This will include advanced ShortGolf® drills and games and how to make the most of your ShortGolf Certification.

2. Golf Instructors

This training will show you how to apply your coaching skills and knowledge of golf to ShortGolf, and how to integrate ShortGolf in to your overall development strategy.

Level 1 to Level 2 Coaches

  • General discussion and an outline of Level 2 coaching
  • Review safety procedures
  • Review the Fundamentals, Grip and Ready Position
  • Review the ShortGolf Putt and Chip
  • The golf swing. A detailed introduction to the golf swing to include the importance of the fundamentals, correct use of body rotation, follow through and balance
  • The application of the golf swing to the ShortGolf Pitch and Full Swing
  • Explanation of ShortGolf Rules, Etiquette and Terminology ShortGolf
  • Competition and Tournament Formats

Golf Instructors

  • History of ShortGolf
  • ShortGolf Coaching ethos and methodology
  • Coaching ShortGolf to children
  • Product knowledge
  • Safety procedures
  • The application of the golf swing to ShortGolf
  • Explanation of ShortGolf Rules, Etiquette and Terminology
  • How to set up a ShortGolf® Course, to include Par 3, 4 and 5 holes
  • ShortGolf Competition and Tournament Formats
  • Delivering ShortGolf to different age groups
  • Integrating ShortGolf into your Golf Development Strategy
